I fucking love this piece of fanart. Summer had it commissioned at Yaoi-Con 2004. By a fabulous artist named David Wong. We love him. And this is a bit of an in-joke because when we showed up on Sunday morning to pick up the piece of artwork, David hadn't yet drawn in Bobby's crotch area, and he asked how we wanted the area drawn: left blank or with a penis. The penis would be $2. So I held out two $1 bills and said: "Here's Two dollars for the penis." Hence, "Please insert $2."

Summer says: This is from Marvel's: 1602, where the Marvel heroes from the 60's are placed in 1602 Europe. Angel is about to be burned at the stake for "impersonating" one of God's messengers. Who's doing the burning? Why the Inquisitor (aka-Enrique, who is the alter-version of Magneto). He's burning all the 'deformed' mutants, those that can't pass for human, but those that can pass for human get a pardon. When I saw this pic, all I could think of was "We burn our prophets so that we aren't faced with the truth."

Summer says: This is from Marvel's: 1602, where the Marvel heroes from the 60's are placed in 1602 Europe. I totally rec this book, especially the hardback version because it comes with sketches. It's a total crossover, but man, it's... wow. Like a really great AU fanfic, with pictures. Petros (Quicksilver) is constantly being hit on by the King of Scotland, Enrique (Magneto) was ... molested as a child by a priest and then unable to return to his Jewish parents, and Angel was totally in love with "John" who was really Jean only he didn't know it and actually said he was in love with the boy. Really, really great book. Go. Buy.
